President’s Message: Fourth Quarter, 2008   “We need some new ideas” How many times have we heard these words at work, in our daily lives and in organizations we may belong to? New ideas keep our lives vibrant and interesting, without them our lives can become routine, stale and boring. The officers and directors of WB&A would like to appeal to our members for some new ideas. Over the past few years we have introduced several new programs and innovations that we hope have appealed to you, our members. Interactive layouts at our meets, hobby-related excursions, Kids' Club, a web site and even hosting the TCA 2010 National Convention. In addition there are ongoing efforts such as the newsletter and promoting our hobby in whatever way we can. These are just a few examples.   We are only twelve people out of a membership of about 335 and surely, there must be many good ideas out there fermenting in the fertile minds of our other 300+ colleagues. Please share them with us and help keep toy trains the great pastime it has become. Maybe you haven't thought about it that much since you were having too much fun playing with your trains. TCA, WB&A, Eastern Division, etc. has lost many members because it was "too much work and not enough fun". I have found that before anyone can have any fun, someone must first do some work. So, do some work and help us out with your thoughts, desires and ideas…we need them to make our Club grow and provide more benefits and features to our membership.   Drop us a line via e-mail or call me or anyone else on the Board.
